Good morning Boys, Girls and those of you of mixed or no gender, welcome to possibly the hardest post anyone will ever make on a blog, the obligatory first post. That being said, lets start at the beginning.
What is The iJim Report and why is it here?
Going way, way back to a galaxy far, far away when I got internet installed in my house for the first time I knew, almost right away that I had to have part of it just for me, my own little piece, just for me. So I started a blog of sorts on one of those free websites you could get.
Later I was introduced to a website set up and ready for blogs and so it was that my first blog was born on the 8th March 2006, About two years later I had an idea where I thought it would be better if the people who read my blog could listen to it instead of having to sit and read it. Bearing in mind at the time of this thought I did not have the tools required to make this happen so I plodded on until I discovered a website called YouTube, realising that I could record videos and have them on my blog made me go all a quiver and so I started making videos for YouTube, for my blog.
Unfortunately, I ended up concentrating more on my new YouTube channel than I did my blog, which now lay abandoned and alone. From time to time I would go back to my blog and make a post about how I was going to start blogging again but I rarely did go back. That was until about two month ago when, after years of trying to be noticed on YouTube I had the realisation that I was never going to be seen on an already saturated platform and returned to my roots.
About the same time I discovered a Podcasting website called Anchor.fm of course I had to have a look to see what it was all about, it claimed to make podcasting and the making of one easier than ever, and it was, but, after a few weeks I found out that Anchor.fm uploaded my podcasts to its own iTunes account not mine, and I wanted my podcasts to be shared on my iTunes account, not another persons account. I had had this thought that, what would happen to all my podcasts if Anchor were to fold, and the worry set in.
Giving my state of mind, once the seed of worry had set in, I could not shake it and had to find a way where I could make podcasts and have them shared on sites under my account, and this is where we are now with a brand new blog on my very own WordPress site. I am still using Anchor.fm but, I plan to use it as more of a documentary podcast about how I manage to juggle a busy family life with writing a blog.
What is The iJim Report and iJim.co.uk all about?
I have been gifted with a number of mental health disabilities which means I see the world kind of different to most people. The iJim Report is where I share news, views and commentaries about the world and world news as I see it, be it in the form of blog posts, podcasts or videos, maybe even all three in the same post, after all.. My blog, my rules.
